American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification Course

The American Red Cross Lifeguarding Course is meticulously designed to equip participants with the essential skills and comprehensive knowledge necessary to effectively prevent and respond to a wide range of aquatic emergencies. Age Requirement

Individuals wishing to partake in the American Red Cross Lifeguarding Course must be 15 years old by the last day of the course.

Swimming Requirement

Candidates are required to demonstrate strong swimming skills, which includes:

  • Completing a swim-tread-swim sequence (Continuously swim 150 yards, tread for 2 minutes, then swim 50 yards)
  • Swimming 20 yards, retrieving a 10-pound brick from a depth of 7-9 feet, and returning to the starting point in a timely manner, all while keeping the face above water.

The course has a cost of $325 and includes a Lifeguard Hip Pack, Whistles and CPR Mask
