Our Policy

We offer accommodations as required by the ADA and our affiliated training organizations (such as the American Red Cross, American Heart Association, and the Health and Safety Institute). Accommodations may include but are not limited to closed captioning on videos, reading tests aloud, extended time for assessments, modified instructional materials, and alternative testing formats.

While we make every effort to accommodate students' needs, it's important to note that certification in a specific class cannot be guaranteed if essential skills cannot be demonstrated, even with accommodations. We are committed to providing reasonable accommodations to facilitate learning and participation to the fullest extent possible.

Students who require accommodations are encouraged to notify us as soon as possible via email or phone call. Early notification allows us to better understand individual needs, seek necessary approvals for accommodations from training organizations if required, and provide appropriate support. We value open communication and are here to assist students throughout the accommodation process.

We respect the confidentiality of student disability information and will only disclose such information to authorized personnel involved in providing accommodations or as required by law, contract or necessity. Our commitment to maintaining student confidentiality ensures a safe and supportive learning environment for all.

Students have the right to file grievances if they believe they have been discriminated against or denied appropriate accommodations, and we have procedures in place to address such concerns. These proceedures may differ depending on the course offered.

For further assistance or information regarding accommodations, students can email accommodations@safetyfirsttraining.org or call 512-734-5289.

Thank you for your cooperation as we work together to ensure equal access and opportunities for all students. We look forward to assisting you in your learning journey at Safety First Training.

Your Responsibility

Ensuring proper accommodations is essential to guaranteeing every student's right to equal educational opportunities. If you require accommodations to fully participate in our courses, please notify us promptly via email or phone call. Additionally, if you've found specific accommodations effective in the past, we encourage you to share that information with us. If you have a physical disability or injury, we recommend speaking with your healthcare provider about your ability to partake in the course.

Early notification allows us to provide timely support and guidance. In certain instances, we may need to seek approval for accommodations from the training organization associated with the course. Your early communication enables us to obtain this approval efficiently. Should approval be denied, we'll work diligently to identify suitable alternatives to ensure your needs are met.

If you have any questions or concerns about this policy, please contact us at accomodations@safetyfirsttraining.org or call us at 512-734-5289.
